Why a daily limit?
Honest answer: running these analyses costs real compute, and an open spigot gets abused for content-evasion testing — which we will not support. The free tier is generous enough for casual journalists, teachers, and curious readers; the paid tier sustains the work.
What stays free forever?
Trying the detector. We don't want anyone unable to verify a suspicious image, audio clip, or piece of text because they can't afford it. Anonymous preview + the signed-in free tier are both permanent.
What does “shareable report” mean?
Every verification can be published to its own public URL like
/report/abc123. The page renders the verdict and forensic signals; the social preview card shows the verdict prominently so a link on X or LinkedIn carries the result with it. Free shares carry a small “Verified at couldthisbetrue.com” mark; Pro shares are clean.How accurate is the analysis?
Honestly: nobody's detection beats a coin flip on heavily-edited AI text or latest-gen images. We don't claim 99% accuracy. We give you six visualized signals so you can see exactly which fired and decide for yourself. Read What ‘87%’ actually means.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly Pro cancels in one click from your billing portal — no emails, no friction. You keep Pro access through the end of your current billing period.
What about privacy?
Anonymous preview and the web-tool checks are processed in your browser; the content itself never leaves your device. We record only the verdict, score, and modality for your usage counter. Pro API users opt into server-side analysis for the convenience of programmatic access; a no-retention mode is available on request.
